Top tips and treats for more beautiful lips!

We all know lips are important...there are a huge selection of lipsticks in every colour and finish, glosses, mousses, stains, pencils and balms to make them look their best! Like the skin, lips also need to be looked after as well as made up, so I'm going to run through my top 3 products to keep your lips looking and feeling  perfect and kissable!

In at number 3...Lip Balm!

Seems obvious but when you wear lip colour everyday it can be easy to forget such an essential beauty product.  Lip balm will not only help keep the lips hydrated, but also the extra moisture in your lips will make them look fuller, and less lined! Also a lip balm with vitamins can help to heal chapped or cracked lips and provide protection!

Hydrate, repair and protect with 'Vitamin E Stick' for kissable soft lips!

At number 2...Lip Primer!

A must have for those who like their lips to make a statement, but don't want to be checking the mirror every 5 minutes!  As a makeup artist one of the most common thing I hear from women is that their lipstick doesn't last, or that it feathers and bleeds into the small lines around the lips...this is where a good primer steps in.  Not only will it provide a perfect base for long wearing lip colour but it also fills in fine lines on and around the lips so lipstick can't find its way to where its not wanted!  Most primers will also stop lipstick changing colour on the lips so if your lipstick seems to end up a different colour to how it appears on the bullet a primer is a must!

Everyone wants fuller lips, whether your lips have lost volume with age, or you just want a sexier pout a good plumper can work wonders!  There are loads of lip plumpers available that offer the instant 'bee-sting' effect, which is great for a quick fix but the effect is short lived and they can be a little uncomfortable.  A plumper like Liptoxyl X3 works instantly by coating the lips with a special ingredient that attracts water and holds onto it like a sponge, which gives an instant volumised effect, without the tingling sensation...it also has a combination of peptides which promote natural collagen production so you get a lasting effect as well as an instant one! Move over Angelina Jolie...you might have some competition on the way!

CosmeticsINC turns up the drama!

Hello again!

We have had lots of fun this morning with our new arrivals...no, we haven't had kittens...I'm talking about our new range of false lashes!

'Party Girl' for natural length and volume.

'Date Night' for a sexy winged look.

'Seductive', the name says it all...criss-crossed half lashes with extreme length.

'Damsel' are beautifully defined, full length lashes for a full-on flirty look.

'Drama' by name, naughty by nature...with these over the top lashes your eyes will say it  all!

Skincare for beginners

Hello again!

Now we all know we have to look after our skin, we have products recommended, we follow the instructions and use them properly...but do you actually know what these products are for? I'm going to give you a crash course in basic daily skincare to make choosing the right products for you a bit easier!

Step 1- Cleanse!


Now we all know that cleaning the skin is important but there can be a lot more to cleansers than meet the eye! First decide how you like to cleanse...do you like to wash your face with water? Do you prefer a cream cleanser that you use dry and remove with cotton wool? and most importantly, what do you want your cleanser to do other than just clean your skin?
All cleansers have the same job, to clean the skin, but they can do so much more (or less, remember many cleansers aren't designed to remove make up...always worth checking!).  Your cleanser is the first step of treatment for the skin, a cleanser designed for an oily skin can mattify, slow oil production, shrink pores, and of all your lotions and potions is the best treatment for a blemish prone skin!  If your skin is more on the dry side a creamy cleanser will not just clean, but will comfort, add nutrients, smooth, and prepare the skin so your moisturiser can penetrate more deeply! If you need an extra intensive clean try an exfoliating cleanser...all the good stuff your normal cleanser does, but also a daily use scrub that can resurface and smooth the skin...perfect for more mature skins!

Left to right- Wash off cleansing gel for oily skin, tissue off Vital Gel-Cream cleanser for dry skin, Noir Mineral Exfoliating cleanser...for anyone who wants to refine and detox their skin (that one's my favourite!)

Step 2- Tone


This has always been my favourite part of skincare, but most people ignore it simply because its a bit tricky to know what it does!  If you read any bottle it will explain how its going to 'invigorate and refine'...but do you need to be invigorated?!? You already seem pretty refined to me! So why do you need to tone?!
Basically your toner is like your rinse...think of washing your hair, you use your shampoo...but you don't just leave it in there...that's what toner does, it sweeps away any last impurities, make up, cleanser, or anything else thats left on your skin after washing.  It leaves your skin perfectly clean and ready for moisture...simple as that!

Pore refining toner, and Oxygenating toner...Perfect  Fresheners for any skin!

Step 3- Moisturise


Now this is the workhorse of your skincare routine...there are a million and one moisturisers in the world, so how do you pick the right one?  All is takes are 2 simple questions!
1. 'What type of skin do I have?'...The answer to this will tell you which texture you'll need, oily or combination skins will prefer a lighter oil-free fluid, where dryer skins will benefit from something more rich and full textured!
2. 'What do I want my cream to do?'...seems like an obvious one but its as simple as that! do you just want moisture? Firming? Protection? Anti-Wrinkle? All of the above!?!? 
Once you know these 2 answers its easy, just find a cream for the problem you want to solve, in the texture your skin type needs and chances are, your skin will be happy!

Oxygenating cream for Normal/Dry skin, Oil free day protection for Combination skin, Peptoxyl treatment cream to Smooth, firm, and refine!

Well there's the basics covered...I'll cover the more fun stuff like eye creams, serums, masks etc. another time! As always, any questions, just ask!

Top tips for a beautiful summer!

Hi girls!

After a few days of beautiful weather we have been thinking about looking beautiful with a sunkissed glow!



Protection is the key- keeping your skin protected in the sun is one of the most important things to achieve a beautiful summer skin! Whether you're after a light cover, or something invisible to wear alone or under foundation, a good SPF is every girls (or boys) best friend!

Mineral Sheer Tint for a barely there glow or Retexturizing face primer for an invisible barrier...both offer SPF20 as well as antioxidant protection to keep your skin looking and feeling amazing! Mineral sheer Tint is also waterproof...a real holiday must have!!!!

Go for the GLOW-  Anyone who see's our boutique knows we LOVE pink...but on a tanned skin it can sometimes look a little much...we suggest a beautiful bronzer to contour the face and bring out your tan, and how about some fresh coral on the apples of the cheeks?

roll on august when we launch our nail polish . . . 26 saturated long wearing shades.

Mum put our sample to test painted her nails last Friday. . . was at work on the Saturday . . . cleaned her guttering out on the Sunday (she knows how to live it up!) . . . Monday was gardening . . . took it off on Wednesday and there wasn't a chip in sight!!!!!

we can't wait for all our lovely ladies to get their hands and toes on them!!!

A big hello from Gary and David!

Hi everyone!

We thought we should get the blog started by introducing ourselves! We are Gary (in the black shirt), and David (in the white!) and we are the co-creators of CosmeticsINC, not only a makeup boutique in Peterborough, but also an entire brand built around everything we've learnt from 10 years of making women look and feel amazing!

On this blog we will not only be sharing our day to day lives in the boutique but we'll also post plenty of tutorials and hints and tips so you can learn some new makeup skills and really get the most out of your products! We hope you enjoy reading, and if you have any questions or requests don't be shy!
